Colorado Springs Jewel Box Dining Room

This dining room started out as blank slate....the typical beige walls and little personality. My client expressed that she wanted her dining room to be unlike any other. With her husband doing most of the work, it had to be attainable, yet spectacular. To continue the luxurious theme that is found throughout the rest of her home, we decided on a gold and bronze metallic color palette which highlighted her gorgeous custom chandelier they purchased and had shipped from Italy.

With the help of decorative trim and molding, new hand-scraped wood floors, new wall sconces, LOTS of metallic paint, sweat and tears, this room was transformed into a one-of-a-kind gorgeous jewel box of a dining room...just in time for the holidays :)

For a more custom look, we changed the opening to an arch rather than a square profile. This helped to repeat the softer, more formal shapes that are consistant with the stain glass and the furniture profiles. It also gave this space a more formal aesthetic.

We added a darker metallic paint to the ceilings and brought the wall color up 18" to give the illusion of a coffered ceiling. It also added more dimension to the space, and helped to highlight the gorgeous chandelier.

We have yet to add the finishing touches of a gorgeous eggplant and bronze tapestry, window coverings, and beautiful gold mirror for the center panel.

What do you think? Could you host a dinner party in this room?
